Faith in Texas wants the faith community to be the largest voting block in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Steps towards this include building a significant base of engaged voters throughout the Metroplex, defending the right to vote as a moral issue, fighting voter suppression, and building broad-based public support for fair redistricting.
Join the Faith in Texas Northeast Cluster Team to learn how to effectively mobilize voters in your congregation and community. Sign up today!
What is Together We Vote?
All of the Faith in Texas policy campaigns are designed to flow into integrated voter engagement, a model we call Together We Vote. Before local, state, and federal elections, our member congregations and clusters develop plans to achieve 100% voting in their congregation and take responsibility to register and turn out under-represented voters through their personal networks, block-walks, and phone banks. We train our leaders in “deep canvass” principles, emphasizing transformative, quality conversations over volume. These “sacred conversations” help people to discover their own self-interest and values, uncover their internal barriers to voting, and build an identity as a voter.
